Emergency Plan

Through the Nottinghamshire Integrated Emergency Plan, the council is part of a planned approach to dealing with emergencies in Notts or providing assistance to neighbouring counties if they need it.

At least 30 other agencies are involved in integrated emergency planning within the county, details of which can be found in our Emergency Plan.

The Nottinghamshire Prepared website offers information and advice to residents, visitors and businesses on Nottinghamshire's preparation for and responses to major incidents and emergencies.

You can find Government advice on preparations for national emergencies on the Gov.UK website.

Run, Hide, Tell

Run, Hide, Tell is an information film that provides advice on the steps to take to keep safe in the event of a firearms or weapons attack. Recent events around the world remind us of all the terrorist threat we face. Police and security agencies are working tirelessly to protect the public but it is also important that communities and individuals are aware of how to protect themselves if the need arises.

The four minute film sets out three key steps for keeping safe.

Red Cross Emergency App

Some members of staff are trying out the Red Cross Emergency App on their smart phones.

The award-winning free mobile app delivers real-time alerts, severe weather warnings and practical advice in an emergency.

The app sends you alerts if an emergency is about to affect your chosen area - and gives you advise on what to do. For example it will warn you about impending weather emergencies. It includes advice for both households and businesses.

And since being prepared is half the battle, the app is packed with advice on getting ready for a host of common emergencies – such as floods, storms, car breakdowns  and power cuts.

It might be something you wish to try.
